Meet our Attorneys

Pugh "Sonny" T. Huckabay, III

Sonny, a native of Coushatta, Louisiana, returned to the northern part of the state after earning his law degree from Southern University School of Law in Baton Rouge in 1993. For over 30 years, Sonny has been committed to seeking justice for his clients with dedication and compassion. His practice focuses on domestic litigation, including divorce, child custody, adoption, property partition, alimony, wills, successions, as well as white-collar crimes, misdemeanors, and felonies.

Sonny has been happily married to his wife, Missy, and together they have grown three children. In their free time, Sonny and his family enjoy hunting, traveling, and spending time on the water, where they boat, fish, and ski.

Heather May

Heather is a dedicated Family Law attorney committed to helping children and families navigate life’s most challenging transitions with compassion, professionalism, and practical guidance. Originally from the East Coast, Heather brings a unique background in family law, advocacy, and education policy to her practice.

Heather began her legal career practicing family law before expanding into education policy and advocacy, where she focused on youth development, educational opportunity, and supporting children and families. Through this work, Heather developed a deeper understanding of how education, extracurricular opportunities, relationships, and social-emotional supports intersect to impact a child’s growth and stability. She brings this broader perspective to family law matters, helping courts consider the full picture of what supports a child’s best interests.

Outside of the office, Heather enjoys gardening, spending time with her son, and caring for her senior dog Cooper and rescue cat Chelsea. She has also enjoyed becoming part of the Louisiana community and supporting local traditions and events, including cheering on the Mudbugs.
